Does the end user always need to initiate a trade in the market after selecting a robo-trader, or auto-generate a trade based on a user-selected robo-trader?
AlgoBot could auto-generate a trade based on a user-selected robo-trader. Algobot is a showcase to publish new robo-traders with backtest statistics and live paper trading performance. The robo-trader will be subscribed, connected with securities accounts via API, and then orders will be automatically generated.
Do licensed financial institutions manage the operation and risk control of the robo-traders?
A robo-trader backed by trading algorithm is developed by independent researchers and licenced asset management firms. AlgoBot manages the IT infrastructure of displaying the algorithms and connecting with brokers. AlgoBot only allows asset management firms and financial institutions to display new robo-traders. They evaluate the performance of the strategies and set the risk control parameters.
Can I monitor the trades?
Sure! Create a new separate login that you use to log in TWS to monitor the trading process. Using same login will disconnect the robo-trader from trading. Click here for more details.

What can I do about the weekend disconnection of my securities account?
You don't need to do anything because the connection will resume automatically after weekends. The weekend disconnection is due to broker regular maintenance or AlgoBot maintenance. If you initiate first time broker connection at weekends and encounter technical failure, please try again in weekdays.
Why doesn’t the robo-trader execute trades according to the “Trade Record”?
Some trades shown in “Trade Record” are close orders of positions previously opened. If user subscribes the robo-trader after the positions are opened, then the robo-trader does not need to send close orders.
If I subscribe a robo-trader with existing positions in my securities account, will that robo-trader handle the existing positions?
No, the robo-trader will not handle any existing positions, even if they are previously created by the same robo-trader or any others listed on Algobot.
